Introduction:
The first Black Panther movie was a box office hit breaking records and in my opinion, changed how movie execs see black consumers. It also gave black people a superhero we could all be proud of and a world that we can immerse ourselves. This is important when it comes to big-budget movies or movies in general because at the time we didn't have much different representation outside of hood and slavery movies. I loved the movie for these reasons but the only thing I didn't enjoy was the story. So when Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was coming out I thought about waiting for it to arrive on streaming services and enjoying it in the comfort of my own home but that was before I heard more information on the story and trailer. I've learned to not make ly on that but on the idea of the story and trailer scenes and wanting to support my people, I decided to go. So with that being said, this is the A. C. E. Review of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Review:
Right from the beginning of the movie it goes right into what happened to the King T'Challa. He loses his life from an illness and because his sister Shuri was not able to save her brother, it changes her. Then as Shuri and her mother and others grieve for the loss, they meet an underwater ruler Namor who offers them two choices both choices puts them in a compromising position which leads to war. The sounds are great and enjoyable especially if you enjoy African culture, now when it comes to the visuals it was up and down. At times it was beautiful but there were times when they drop the ball especially when they showed Namor's Kingdom. The action was good across the board but in my opinion, the thing that made this movie great is its acting. Letitia Wright and Tenoch Huerta were great but Angela Bassett was phenomenal.
Conclusion:
Overall this movie was great to me it had a great pace with good action and acting all the while telling an important story about loss, family, and the importance of unity. If you loved the first movie then you will like this one. It's a bittersweet feeling to not have T'Challa in the Black Panther movies but they might have a plan in place to bring him back only time will tell. I was never a fan of the casting and look of Namor but I now understand why they went with that. I'm happy that the Latin people can now have a character to be proud of.
Positives:
+ Story
+ Acting
+ Pacing
+ Action
+ Characters
Negatives:
- Visuals
- T'Challa
- Not Comic Accurate
Michelle Yeoh has had a wonderful career and I like many of her movies, so when I saw the trailer for Everything Everywhere All At Once I was excited because I knew the acting and action would be great but it was because of the story as well. Time travel movies are always fun and interesting to me. Let's see if this should be another great one to remember or forget forever, this is the A. C. E. Movie Review of Everything Everywhere All At Once.
Story:
The story goes when an interdimensional rupture unravels reality, an unlikely hero must channel her newfound powers to fight bizarre and bewildering dangers from the multiverse as the fate of the world hangs in the balance. This story gave me The Matrix vibes at times mixed with What Dreams May Come and The One but it had a unique mix of different genres.
Graphics & Sound:
The sound was good, and the special effects were very minimal but the look of the movie is another reason why it gave me The Matrix feels. The sound was very minimal as well this wasn't a movie where these things were a big focus.
Acting:
The acting was where this movie's main focus was, it had a great cast. Everyone stood out and felt like the characters fit and gave a uniqueness to them. My favorite was Evelyn played by Michelle Yeon but I enjoyed the whole cast even Jamie Lee Curtis who was great to me too. I am glad to see her getting back into movies again. It had a great blend of action, comedy, sci-fi, and drama.
Conclusion:
Overall this movie is a movie not many may know and might miss but if you have the time to go to see it whether it be in the movie theater or on a streaming service, please take the time to watch it. It has great life lessons, action, comedy, and more. I enjoyed the journey I was on, it made me laugh, feel sad, and happy. I love EVERYTHING about it, it took me EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE and I recommend it so it could maybe do the same for you too.
The PlayStation video game series Uncharted has always been a great video game series, packed with outstanding gameplay, graphics, and acting. So of course, when there was talk about them making it into a movie, I got nervous thinking that they would mess it up completely and ruin its legacy but when the cast was released I got hopeful that it would be a decent movie. Let's see if I was right or wrong, this is the A. C. E. Movie Review of Uncharted.
Story:
The story in the video games was always simple about a group of treasure hunters and you play as the main character, Nathan Drake. Now in the movie version, I must say they stuck close to the simple story all while using a mixture of the first three games which isn't a bad idea because there were a lot of cool action events from the first three. The most notable one is from the third one with the cargo plane, it's not 100% accurate but that's to be expected. Honestly, all of the games were outstanding but as I said the story for the movie was pretty good and didn't deviate too much.
Graphics & Sound:
The look of the movie was great the characters did resemble the characters from the video games at least when it came to their outfits, the sound wasn't bad either no complaints there.
Acting:
When it comes to the acting, I felt this is where the movie shined. The playful banter between Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg was great, you can feel the growing friendship between the two. Although in the video game Mark's Character Sully knew Nathan since he was a young kid. But the supporting characters such as Sophia Taylor Ali as Chloe Frazier, Tati Gabrielle as Braddock, and Antonio Banderas as Santiago Moncada all were good with Chloe most likely going to return for the sequel and of course Sully's iconic mustache.
Conclusion:
Overall this was entertaining to me, it had good acting from the two main leads and supporting cast, decent action, and a small nod to the guy who played Nathan Drake in the video game the great Nolan North. I would recommend this movie to people who are a fan of the video games, people who enjoy the actors, or to people who enjoy a good action-adventure movie.
